We can't breed them any smaller w/o serious Health Problems and Issues, amoung many more details. Without getting into a long drawn out debate? Does it really matter? Of course a
irresponsible Breeder will always tell you the Dam/Mother was only 6 lbs. and the Sire/Father was only 3 1/2 lbs. and the Puppy will only be 4 lbs. full grown! But isn't Funny how that same Puppy ends up being 12 lbs.
Or how do you explain a 8 lb. Mother and a 10 lb. Father, having 3 Puppies that only grow to be 5 lbs., 4 lbs., and 3 1/2 lbs.?
Exactly NO ONE can predict anything! But there is always a possibility? IMO, it just seems like everyone is overly concerned with Size & Weight? What about the AKC. Standards? Doesn't "Quality" count for anything? |
Quality counts! It is funny how it worksout. My Koda's parent's were sire at 5.5lbs and dam at 6lbs. Sweet little guy just weighed in at 6lbs 7oz last night!! He went through a major growth spurt in the past month

but that is ok, he is still my little Orkie Oda

(that's what my 4yr old called hom when we got him

Also the breeder was very upfront about him. He said he"ASSUMED" he would be around a 7-8lber! And then there was Allie. Allie's sire weighed 4 1/2lbs and dam was a little teapot at 10lbs

And Allie at 5mos was only 2lbs5oz! With very tiny bones in her paws meaning her body wasn't meant to be big. Yorkies just amaze me in every aspect. They are so diff from other breeds in so many ways. But they are the best
