Default New Yorkie Owner with Questions

Hi Group - I am new to the group, and new to own a Yorkie. I have been wanting one for a very very long time. I just purchased one this pasted weekend. There are a couple of issues.
First, I purchased her after only looking at her for 10 minutes or so, and trusted the prior owners. They said she was almost 3 years old, but her CKC papers say that she was born in 2002, and registered in 2006. Does that mean anything to anyone? Also, she is so "skiddish". She won't let me hold her, she is not affectionate at all. When described to me over the phone, the prior owners said that she was the perfect loving lap dog. Is this a normal transition? I have been told that since she is so old, she is set in her ways, and probably won't lighten up to me and my family. Second thing, we got her as a family pet, not for breeding, but if I did decide to breed her, is she to old? How old is to old to breed a yorkie?
I really want to bond with this dog, are there any suggestions? Is it to late for her to be sent to any sort of training school?
Thanks so much,
