Ok so I had my engagement party 10/20/07. In my culture, once the guy proposes, you have a party a few months later to celebrate and bless the occasion. It is basically like a wedding only with less people. We had about 100 people, it felt and looked like a real wedding minus my big white dress (substitute with a big pink dress). The colors were pink and green. There was a priest there, who came, said a Prayer to bless the ring and us as a couple. Then we have this tradition where both families get in line and put all kinds of jewelry on me, hence why I have like a dozen necklaces on me in the pictures..lol They dance their way to me and put necklaces, bracelets, watches, rings and earrings on me.
