Sounds like you have an 8-month-old Yorkie Pup!
The good news is that this, too, shall pass. Archie was still giving me a run for my money on all fronts at this age. The potty-training is sometimes tough -- I've got no advice there except to praise her extravagantly when she does the right thing and try rewarding with treats. As for the shoes -- Archie never got the chance to chew them up because I didn't leave them laying around for a long time -- now that he's more than a year-and-a-half old, I can leave my shoes all over and he doesn't touch them.
For a long time Archie wouldn't let me brush him, but I started by giving him a treat, then beginning to brush him and tell him how pretty he is and repeating "Good boy to let Mommy brush!" When I finished, I would give him another treat and repeat "Good boy to let Mommy brush!" I did this consistently for several days. Today, all I have to do is say "Mommy brush!" or show him his brush and he jumps into my lap and he LOVES to get brushed.
