I feel like you do. I was so surprised to find out that my male puppy that I paid a lot of money for had been neutered before I got him. It was not disclosed to me until after I had had him for several days. At first I felt as though I had been ripped off, but I think breeders and the breeding world as a business and a major hobby is so foreign to the way we people who know nothing about breeding think about dogs, puppies and property rights in general. It is almost like they had altered my adopted child without my permission or are telling me what I can and cannot do with my child or my baby.
This is not the way breeders think however. It is perfectly normal for breeders to "protect" their line and to control the rights to the breeding of the puppies they produce. It is a whole different world actually and I have gotten somewhat used to it but not without a lot of controversy because I am so used to things being different in the business world I am used to.
I got a puppy from a wonderful breeder in Texas and I have gotten to know a couple more in my search for my new baby that I just brought home. I would be happy to provide contact info if you PM me.
