that's exactly how all 4 of them were. I used hemostats (I'm sure that was much better than these stubby fingers) to clamp and I tried to leave all I could on pup for error (if mom decided to chew).
I could see how one could benefit by delivering a couple with their eyes closed. You never know what situation you're going to be in. Besides, I relied on mainly on eyesight. I'm definitely going to have to do that. Now that'll sharpen some whelping skills.
Cords have dried nicely and mom is mothering quite well.
She was shivering afterwards and I gave her calsorb mixed with nutrical. She was 100% percent better in about 45 seconds. Her last litter was 3 and this litter was 4, I'm sure it took alot out of her. |
