I have a Maltese as well. At this moment she is on my lap.
She is extremely playful and joyful - that's the best word I can find to describe her. Just pure joy. She is so happy all the time and the way she comes running to me after she goes potty is SO adorable.
I just recently started letting her sleep on my bed and she thinks it is the coolest thing ever. She gets so excited. She jumps all over and keeps kissing me and looking me in the eye like she is saying, "Thank you mommy!"
I keep her hair shorter and I love it that way. She needs a groom right now though.
She loves everyone - whether they come to the house or we go visiting. She is just a love bug and like I said, a pure joy. She loves to cuddle when the all the dogs settle down and she is a true escape artist. I sometimes call her Houdini Jr.
She just wants to be with me and not behind any gate!
Grooming isn't bad if they are kept rather short. We don't get matts if we keep up with it. I don't think she has ever had a matt, now that I think of it.
I don't think I can think of anything negative about her....
