Gus is a good boy,,, (Knock on wood) the only time he'll bark at me is when he wants to play. But we used to use a spray bottle on my pom. She was a little demon seed. One time I tried to take away a m&m that one of the kids dropped on the floor and boy did she put up a fight. She was so mad at me I had to push her away with the broom and spray her face. They really hate that spray bottle. I used it once on Gus for chewing on the carpet and squarted him right in his eye. I never did it again. Up to this day he'll run to the other room if he sees the spray bottle. We use it when we iron our clothing.
