Default too young

Didn't you realize your puppy might be too young? Yorkies are way too young to expect to be able to hold anything for 8 hours in a crate at 7 weeks, she's too young to be away from her Mother at that age too. Have some patience with her and at 12 weeks try again with the crate at night. In the meantime, have a larger "area" for her that has her crate there too, maybe a large playpen or rubbermaid container with pee pads and a crate with the door open--this way she can keep her crate clean and still be able to "go" when she has to. As for the crying, she will eventually stop- but she's a baby remember, and things will get better!
