I'm not sure how much I can help, but I'll give it a try. Sam hasn't had a single flea and heaven knows that fleas love the weather in Seattle!

First, I use a good insect killer like Ortho Max on the grass. That is supposed to kill ticks, fleas, ants, and others. Fleas love beauty bark it could be a problem if you have a lot of that and it stays moist. Treat all of your bark. If you can really reduce the numbers of fleas outside then you should not have problems bringing them in.

My brother uses Frontline on his dog, but he has a big Lab. It is just a drop that you put on their skin and it goes into the dog's bloodstream. Any fleas that bite the dog die shortly thereafter before they can lay eggs. He no longer has flea problems with his dog, but I have read that Frontline can make a small dog like a Yorkie sick. I would definitely check with your vet on that.

If they are already all through the house, the only thing I have heard of working is a good bug fogger. Then wash all the bedding and vacuum very well. Make sure you are all out of the house when you use the fogger. Last time I used one was 15 years ago so I don't even know if they are still around.

Good luck!
