That is weird. It shouldn't affect the taste. Our human food tastes the same in stainless steel as in glass or anything else. Could it be that the level of the food is higher than it is comfortable for him to eat? It is a little harder to pick up the kibbles than to drink the water. Just a thought. Try feeding him in the same bowl, but on the floor not on the stand. Then you will know if it is the height and not the bowl itself. Mine all eat and drink out of stainless steel bowls with no problem, but I don't use a stand.
