Maybe both. Tricksie has a lot of energy and I trained her to a play pen, she is over a year old and never jumped out but when I leave her, I do worry that she might try it. I only put her in it when I leave because she chews up everything, have never left her more than 4 hours and she never has an accident in it. Have her trained to pee pads and she always has one in the pen but will wait until I get home.
That is funny, "put penny's in the can", brings back memories from years ago when I had a maltipoo, she was the worst barker in the world when someone came to visit. My Mom came over one day and "Dallas" the maltipoo would not shut up so I started chasing her around the house shaking the can and my Mom told my sister that I was having a nervous break-down.
