do not do the cortisone shots as they stay in the system much longer than the pills as very strong and these are little dogs. Use temarilp or atopica if itching as safer. Steroids can cause hair loss. Also i would test thyroid T4 FREE and have vet send to dr. jean dodds for blood work. use raw coconut oil on hotspot as safe for them to lick and very healing as a natural antibacterial and anti fungal - safer than neosporine as any medication you put on the skin goes into the blood. Hair loss and itchy skin can be a thyroid condition so rule it out
