Thanks so much for the encouragement. More than anything, I was just looking for someone who's had a similar situation that turned out ok.
It's not that I wouldn't love him regardless, I just want him to be happy and to love me! I've had him for 6 days now and he's acting some better, but is still very scared of new situations/enviroments and terrified of new people. He only likes me if I'm laying completely flat on the floor and playing with one of his toys. I do see small progress daily though - like last night while playing in the floor he actually let me rub his belly and seemed to enjoy it. I just hope in a few days I"ll be able to report the same good news that you have!
