Oh Shana!!

I know exactly what your talking about!! We have one too,, and it's [unsafe] atop the grass in our backyard..Hubby LOVES it. He has friends over for drinks and makes the fire so that it's pouring out the top of the firepit! It drives me insane!!

99% of the time, he'll sit out there till the fires died down so there's not a chance that a "spark" would blow out the pit onto the grass and burn our house down...

However, the good thing, is that we don't have a tree right on top of it. Still doesn't make it okay...

Anyway, I would go talk to the neighbors first before I go to the "town" ppl.
