I am also confused about the dogs that people just stick in the backyard and ignore. Why have a dog? I guess some people use the big ones for security. It is just strange to get a dog and then ignore it. Strange and sad. Put them on a mailing list for shelters. Maybe they will get the hint if they start getting a lot of pamphlets in their mail for dog shelters.
