Have someone come in. When your dog starts to jump don't give him any attention, turn away from him or they can go back out. Make him sit and stay, reward him for doing that.
Keep repeating. He only gets attention and rewarded when he keeps all paws on the floor.
Make sure all family members do this when they come in. Don't let anyone reward the bad behavoir with attention.

Another little trick I saw on tv. When you pet a dog on the top of their head it encourages them to jump up. Scratch them on their chest. It brings their head and attention downward. I do this when I meet new dogs. It works.
excellent idea! that's mostly what i was going to post.

another idea is to keep a leash on his harness when people come over. Before you answer the door put him in a sit and stay. let the people in. If he moves take the leash and put him back in the same spot with a sit and stay. The leash is just to help catch and control him better since they are small.

I mostly like the 'ignore till they calm down' method. I do it at my friends house, except he has a 100lb dog trying to get my attention. not fun to be jumped on by that. i ignore her and keep turning my back to her. eventually she gives up and sits down, then i pet her chest.
