My cabinet Im so proud of..... Just wanted to share a few pics of my cabinet that I am so darn proud of.....
I bought the cabinet from a friend of mine who was moving and didn't have the room for it for $25. It was painted teal green. A really yucky teal too. I forgot to take pics of it before I started to redo it.
I put it in the garage and stripped it all down. When I got a closer look at it I found that all the hardware is really really old. I took the hardware to the antique store here and they told me that it is a very rare find considering how good of shape it is in.
I then relized that on the inside of the drawers there is a stamp so back to the antique store I went. I found out that the cabinet was made in the early 1900's.
After I stripped it all down i was a little disappointed because there are some really bad water marks on the wood that I cant get out and some big stains that I cant get out so I decided to paint the cabinet and distress it to look old.
SO here is the final pic. I just love this cabinet though. Its great to hold all my nic nac stuff (im a collector of neat and different nic-nac-ey things) |
