Is he malnourished? If so, try Rebound. It is very high in calories and provides all of the vitamins and nutrition that a dog needs. This is what I have always used for the rescues that are underweight due to not being fed properly. You can get it at your vet's office or order it online. You can use it as a liquid diet supplement for a sick dog but in your case, I would mix it into his food. It will help put weight on him, increase his appetite, and give him the vitamins he needs.
