I just read that when the brain of a dreaming person is studied, the part of the brain responsible for visual memory is in hyperdrive- way more active than when awake and the part of the brain that controls logic, rationality and coherence is completely off. That explains why dreams can be so vivid and weird. I know just what you mean though about how some dreams stick with you during the day. They are usually disturbing dreams and it's awful. That's great how well you remember yours in general though. I always have great intentions to write mine down but the follow through just isn't there.
