I hear ya!!! We waiting until Marcel was 11 mths old - and he still only weighed 2.12 pounds. The day after surgery, you not even have known that he had surgery. It went just perfectly. I totally understand your fear, but these little guys usually do so darn well.
If it makes you feel better though, nothing wrong w/ waiting a bit.
