You should not feel quilty, like you said if your allie came home she would still be loved..
Everyone is different, some feel they cannot do this too soon, they feel they are betraying another dog...
I have always believed that if one needs another dog, then that is an honor to your lost and beloved pet.
I had a friend that had a small dog, it was killed in front of her house. the dog never went to the road..I talked her into getting a yorkie, I knew of one that needed a home. She did get the yorkie, she told me later on that getting the new yorkie gave her something to wake up for, helped her heal, she would never forgot heidi, but having tommi gave her so much love, she helped her so much. when she thanked me for talking her into getting her, I had a big lump in my throat...
