This comes from the financial aspect, we want a yorkie, have looked at the cheap ones (anywhere from free to $500) and have decided that we want to go through a breeder so that if we want to breed eventually we can. We will only breed if our dog is healthy and fits the standards, as we don't want to become a backyard breeder, our breeding would be because we love our dog, not because of the money, hence the fact of waiting so long to actually breed.

I do have to admit that I hate coming onto this site and reading peoples postings because it seems that most of the people who own Yorkies are stuck up and feel that they are better then everyone else, I don't want to become one of those people. If others want to spend $150 or so on a pup let them be, it's them who may end up paying more because of health problems in the end. Let them learn their lesson!!!!

I understand where you are coming from but its not about the people learning their lesson (to me). Its about the sad puppies that are produced by many backyard breeders, many times with genetic health issues. I don't like the fact many of these puppies will lead difficult (and possibly painful) lives.
