Currently I am using my sister's Elna, which will hopefully end up being mine since she said she is looking into getting a new general sewing machine with her Xmass bonus. After playing around with it I found it to be very easy to use. Elna's are a bit more on the expensive side though.
My Mother used to be a seamstress, so we have an industrial Singer which is way to fast for me to use. We also have a regular Singer machine, which needs to be fixed (I jammed the bobbin years ago), and a babylock serger. All the machines with the exception of the Elna are at least 25 years old, the serger takes a bit more time to thread but works nonetheless. About a year or so ago my sister bought a brand new babylock serger and it cost her around $2K

. She also has an embroidery machine that she hasn't figured out yet

I think she too has the sewing machine addiction, and we both have the hoarding fabric addiction
