Wow that is a really low price for a maltese. They're normally as expensive as yorkies are. I wouldn't trust it. They are most likely from a backyard breeder and who knows if they'll be healthy when they grow up. For such a cheap price, I'm positive the parents weren't screen for genetic problems, and she doesn't know if they're healthy since they haven't had a check-up or any vaccines (and don't malteses have dewclaws removed?), and they're probably out-of-standard malteses. One day I'd love to get a maltese but I am SO picky about how they look so I'll have to buy from a show breeder
