List the supplies you are planning on getting, that way everyone can chime in if you've left anything off. Or we may be able to make suggestions on what you can subsitute them for.

One hint I can give you. You will need LOTS of towels for the whelp. Do not try to fool yourself into thinking that you will ever be able to get them clean. I would suggest either buying some cheap ones, use some old ones, or get some from the thrift store or somewhere and wash them several times. Make you use some you don't mind throwing out afterwards.

I would recommend the x-ray. It will not guarantee you the exact number of pups, but will give your vet a heads up if the pups look like they may be too big to deliver. A planned c-section is better than an emergency c-section when your girl is in trouble.

I let my female eat one afterbirth, but toss the other ones. They can upset the digestive system badly.
