The lump I described on Spanky feels fairly solid, not soft like a cyst or tumor would probably be, and it is dead center, in the region of the bottom of the rib cage.
Good luck with Peeka; I know you must be worried, but take comfort that there are many relatively benign/harmless conditions that can cause a lump. Please keep us updated after the Vet's visit. I hope your diagnosis is as simple as ours was.
