It's me. Well, me and my wife and my Yorkies. We had a house meeting and took a vote: 4-0. We want Rusty.
As with the rest of you, it broke my heart to see Megan and her family go through what they're going through. Megan has been my best online buddy for 2 1/2 years. (And Teri was in my top 100, lol, before she pulled a disappearing act.)
I know Megan trusts me about as well as you can trust anybody you meet online, and I promised her that I'd give Rusty a great life. I've been looking at larger rescues here for a while now, so this fell into my lap at the perfect time.
Our only concern is the long travel time, but people do it all the time. One long day seems like a small price to pay for a perfect fit. And that's what this is. I can't wait to introduce Eddie and Jack to their new big brother who happens to get along great with Yorkies. |
Wow Mike! That's amazing!!! Megan will sleep easier knowing her Rusty is safe and happy with you, your wife, and the yorkies.
Maddie will have a long day as well. It's about a ten hour drive back to TN, but we are trying to work it out to stay at a friend's house on the way back so that we can break it up for the little ones. (Marty's coming so that he can meet Maddie too!) My husband and I were thinking along the same lines though...one day in the car is a small price to pay to make sure she has a good home and that Megan and her family can know she's safe and happy.
So now there's even more reason for Megan and Teri to stick around--they can see pics of both Maddie AND Rusty!!
