His coat is silk...the wiry hairs can come from damage..playing and breaking the hair, scratching, a harness etc..unless he is wrapped he may never get a floor length coat..but who cares..if he plays outside, rolls around on the carpets, it breaks the hair off..he is a pet and the length of coat really isn't important IMO.
