Hi everyone. I'm Lisa. I'm the very proud mommy of a 18-week-old Maltese, Rocco. Tomarrow my sister and I are going to see a breeder about adopting a 10-week-old Yorkie puppy. I want this puppy for myself, but I had a hard enough time talking my boyfriend into Rocco! So will just be the very loving Auntie.
I have to admit I am a little nervous. Rocco was only 14 ounces when I got him and we had a tough time of it! He was hypoglycemic and not properly weaned at all. I got him from a puppy store (I know, bad idea!) but at the time I had no idea it was so bad.
I was told he was 7 weeks old, but the vet guessed him to be younger. On the second morning I had him he had a seizure and his head was turned all the way around. I thought he was going to die. It was awful. He didn't have any teeth and was not weaned. Poor baby. I had to feed him emergency milk and then special canned food every two hours for about 3 weeks. But we got through it all and now Rocco is a healthy, although tiny, bouncy little puppy and the LOVE of my life!
My sister and I have been doing lots of research but we would love to hear any advice from other Yorkie-mommies!
I have lots of pictures of my hope-to-be new little neice. I do not know if we are allowed to post pictures so I will just put the links:
