Yeah I have one of those for my laptop and it does help. I hardly use it though because Jake and Jackson are all over it lol. Right now I have one on my lap and one playing at my feet. Jake won't let Jackson sit on my lap at the same time, they have to take turns. They love each other and are getting along great, but they tend to fight over me. They're getting better about it though, we're working on it.
