Tucker had this done when he was about 3 yrs old. From what I understand, it's rare to do a tonsillectomy in dogs. But Tucker had chronic tonsillitis and was always sick so I really had no choice. He also has a partially collapsed trachae. He was hoarse for over 6 months after the surgery but did eventually get his "voice" back.
