Personally, I find that most vets know very, VERY little about nutrition options - probably bc they simply don't have the time to keep up with it. I recommend doing your own research and be the advocate for your dog's nutrition. Feeding lower quality foods can actually result in higher vet bills - just read those posts about people's dogs who are suffering terribly from allergies. Also....Iams products tested positive for Phenobarbitol. When I was working for a pet store we recieved the test results and many foods had it in it but under a certains amount is acceptable
Now how in the world could ANY amount be okay??? ugggg and how is it getting in there??? Unthinkable.....
It could all be changed and fine now this was 5 years ago but scary to me...
