I was leaving Target today when I passed a car with an english sheep dog locked in a small car no where near any shade. It was 89 degrees on my car thermostat and they had only left 3 of the windows down about 2 inches.
I went back into the store and told the security guard, who walked out to the car with me. The poor dog was trying to squeeze his nose up to the cracks and kept moving from the front to back seats. The parking lot security guy told me this was all OK because the windows were cracked, so he would not call the police, but he did stay by the car til the owners came back.
Well I did call the police and was on hold with animal control when the owners came back. They insisted that the dog was OK because the windows were cracked and they'd only been gone "10 minutes". Well I made a scene and told them that I'd been there for 25 minutes and they did not deserve their dog and kept saying "shame on you!" This was my first parking lot confrontation so what do you guys think......was I wrong??? I just felt so sorry for that dog.
