Have you tried doggy time outs when he has done this? Then when he has calmed down try it again, and repeat the time out if necessary.
my friends large dogs are not well behaved, they just get so excited i am afraid they will step on him. they are however have very nice disposition's.
sammy is very afraid especially when i go to my daughters house to drop him off for a weekend, when we take a weekend away. he freaks out , by jumping and in a panic. he also does alot of snapping.
with doggie time out, i would have to yell at him to make him stay anywhere. he gets very upset if i am mad at him. i dont like to yell at him or even smack him. he is so perfect ( except for this thing , that i cant bring him around any other dogs )
i would imagine that i have to start by socializing him with other dogs.
thanks for your advice
