In the beginning (before I did the research) I was using a slicker brush on my dog's and they HATED IT with a passion! I asked the breeder about this and she said it's because those type of brushes are made for dogs w/ an undercoat ... like a German Shepherd, Husky and a Shiba Inu. Yorkies have fine coats and using the wrong type of brush can damage their coat and break the hair.
