Prior to initiating complete care with the new vet, I called the technician and told him honestly why I wasn't going to take Charlie to their vet hospital. I lost confidence and didn't like the alternate vets. He was so understanding and that eliminated the need to talk directly to the vet. In all honesty, vets are so busy that I don't think they notice.
You have to remember that choosing a vet is the same as "Patients Bill of Rights" in health care. Also, Charlie's records were forwarded to the new vet and dental surgeon, so the vet is aware.
I know it is difficult and we feel an obligation for their care in the past, but we need to feel confident when we walk out of their office with our pups. Something I have discovered though, most vets are not savvy about nutrition. They sell what the vendor pitches and that is why you see common products.
Good luck and congratulations on striving for a healthy diet for your pup. Also, you are a wise woman to realize the overuse of vaccinations is harmful.
Warmly, Deborah |
