If the breeder starts the pups on puppy pads/litter boxes and you keep the pup in an enclosed area (bathroom/xpen) with a litter box or newspaper then I could possibly see the pup being able to figure it out. But if not, then I can't see the pup figuring out that he's supposed to use either
