My Codies does the exact same thing to his teddy bear!

I don't think his size is a grat concern. I had my Katie spayed when she weighed only 2 lbs. Just make sure the vet use isoflourane (hope I spelled that right). And make sure the vet - not the VET TECH - works on your dog.
