I would suggest keeping the new pup in crate for safety and letting the Ridgeback get a good sniff. Watch carefully for body language, hackles,tail wagging etc. that will let you know when the big guy is ready for more. One slow step at a time with control of each dog so you can immediately remove the pup at any sign of trouble. Treats for the big guy at any sign of acceptance and lots of calm reassurance. Monitor interactions until you are sure it's all good bonding, this may take quite awhile. Be especially careful when pup starts getting into his food, toys, favorite spot etc. Good luck, Stacy
