Smile Hi

Hi and welcome. I am a new member as well. Also a Grandma. Last year we decided to get a Yorkie, and found Tootsie. Things worked out so well with her, that we decided to get her a companion, and along came Teddy. All I can say is that they are the sweetest, most loving dogs we have ever had. They each have their own little personality.
I have found them to be a very energetic, intelligent breed. Tootsie would play ball until she drops, and sometimes, it is a little hard to keep up, but hey, I can use the exercise.
The only advice I can give is that if your grandchildren are very young,(mine are in their teens) make sure that they are very careful around them, and handle them in a gentle way. I am very cautious when young children come to the house, as without meaning to, they could step on one of them.
It sounds as though you are doing your homework, and reading up on them, and I'm sure if you decide to bring one into your home, you won't be sorry. We aren't. Can't imagine life without them.
