Default pups

What can happen is the coat that is blue stays short or falls out and is replaced by a very short hair..like a Doxie, smooth and short. I see no need to put any dog down because the color is wrong. I remember years ago a member of our club had several grey pups in a litter..she did not repeat the litter..these pups were not heathy and died..but many will be just fine. My blue boy is 3 years old now and his family keep in touch.

As to book knowledge over experince...they both go hand in hand..I would pick experince over book knowledge to a point. When we are dealing with peoples hearts and emotions..and breeders are for sure. We need to know all we can, read, talk to other breeders, go to shows whether you show or not, talk to vets etc...the reason being, when a pup is born with a problem many breeders do not recognize it and sell the pup..later the new owner goes through misery and heart break, not to count the $$$$$ to fix a problem...many pups die from lack of breeder knowledge..selling too soon, not recognizing something abnormal...the vet can give a liver shunt puppy a clean bill of health on a good day..not all LS pups are continiously sick. If the breeder does not tell the vet what they observe, many vets will not know by a simply well puppy check before the pup leaves...plus many breeders feel their pups are just fine and never see the vet before they leave...you only have to read a few forums to see the heartache an "unlearned" breeder can cause...best wishes
