Last year, my oldest daughter was very ill and in the hospital for a very long time -- the only thing I could think of was getting a puppy for her to make her happy. I knew it was going to be a lot of work but we did a lot of research about Yorkies while she was inpatient.
Now I can't believe how our lives have changed with our beautiful Yorkie, Kiki. The happiness it brings to my daughter and the rest of our family is priceless. She is like another child in the family. All I am trying to say here is that I would pick up 1000 poops a day just to see the happiness on my daughter's face. I would never complain about my Yorkie's accidents because we have so many things to be thankful for. I am so thankful for each day that passes because of Kiki coming into our lives and our daughter being home with us to enjoy her.

Thanks so much for posting that heartwarming story. We have had the same experience. My hubby has several very serious health conditions which caused him to have to retire unexpectedly. There are many days when he doesn't feel well enough to even get out of bed. BUT he always does, and at least sits in his easy chair holding Rexy and Rowdy. He will tell anyone who will listen that they are the lights of his life - you'd think I would be upset about that

but I understand.
They are his reason for getting out of bed and that is a GOOD thing, especially when he doesn't feel good. Another cute thing is that he doesn't look like he is old enough to be retired. So, when someone who doesn't know him asks about his occupation, he always says that his occupation is "holding dogs". And he is absolutely right, one or both of them are on his lap all the time.
If not for them, I know he would be depressed and feeling much worse. They are truely the lights of BOTH our lives!!! Oh and I should add, that before the Yorkie boys, I was not a dog person either! Now, I can't imagine life without them!
