I have read numerous posts from new Yorkie owners complaining about potty training (after only a couple days) and they are ready to give up, etc. etc. I have never been a dog lover and said "no" to my two daughters about getting a puppy for many, many years. Last year, my oldest daughter was very ill and in the hospital for a very long time -- the only thing I could think of was getting a puppy for her to make her happy. I knew it was going to be a lot of work but we did a lot of research about Yorkies while she was inpatient.

Now I can't believe how our lives have changed with our beautiful Yorkie, Kiki. The happiness it brings to my daughter and the rest of our family is priceless. She is like another child in the family. All I am trying to say here is that I would pick up 1000 poops a day just to see the happiness on my daughter's face. I would never complain about my Yorkie's accidents because we have so many things to be thankful for. I am so thankful for each day that passes because of Kiki coming into our lives and our daughter being home with us to enjoy her.

Wow, what a heartwarming story! I can relate to the poo part. My Sugar uses potty pads but usually feels the need to run while pooing. Consequently, even though he starts on the pad, the poo ends up on the floor waiting for me to clean it up. Who cares? It's sure not the biggest deal in my life and he's worth every poo I have to clean up and more. I hope your daughter is doing well. Welcome to YT.
