What I do is :
I get all of my bills together and what dates and the amounts that they are due
Then the amount I make at work after taxes
Gas money
Food
Basically make a list of the credits and debits you would need to make every month
I always leave atleast $50 for incidentals that may happen
So basically you're making a financial journal - it really helps
Whatever is left after that I put in the savings account - every penny counts!
