I did the same thing. Upstairs I got a VERY small crate to start with. You don't really want to encourage potty-ing in their crate. Even with a divider. There should be a good amount of room between potty area & rest area. The crate at night should help them learn to 'hold it' so they can work on bladder control. During the day I used a crate that was a little bigger (I did buy 2; bought them at Big Lots) without the door in her play area so she had a place to sleep. Over time, I took out the crate from her 'yard' and put in a regular snug bed. But I didn't stop her night time bed.
