sorry, without permission I decided to copy a letter I received.
below is her situation:

She is 5 pounds and both her back legs appear like chicken wings, she gets around fine. The specialist said that her right knee needs to have surgery first because it is the worst and that it has probably been like that since she was a couple of months old. She is the product of puppy mill breeding. It is luxating patella surgery that she needs but it is really far gone the knee cap is almost around to the back of her leg. The surgeon feels if it is not done soon she will be crippled as she is now 7 years old. Same on the left leg but not as severe. I had a offer for the first surgery but then we did not have the funds for the basic stuff that would be needed for the surgery that would run around $300.00 so he went out of town on a job and I do not feel I can keep bugging him. He would probably do each leg for $600.00, he just wants to cover his costs of his b lades, laser tips etc.
