Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when that opinion is advocating unnecessary cruelty, you bet many people will be upset.
To me, you saying "let's declaw all cats because they MIGHT scratch out a dog's eye" is the same as saying "let's de-tooth all dogs because they MIGHT bite other dogs". After all, there are more lethal dog bites reported a year compared to lethal cat scratches...
