Hi All, I am a new bringing my new yorkie home and need to know how to introduce her to our current dog.
Our dog is a 4 year old Rhodesian Ridgeback (85 lbs.) and is a sweet heart. The Ridgeback has not been around many dogs so we are a little anxious about how to introduce the new puppy.
When we come home from visiting the puppy at the breeders, our Ridgeback really smells us up and down.
Would you recommend we have them meet outside of our house (meet on neutral territory) and then keep allow them to sniff each other several times a day to get acquainted? I would never allow them to visit unsupervised but do want them to become friends at some point.
Our vet says that the Ridgeback gets along well with the other dogs when we board her.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
