pups As a 30 plus year breeder/exhabitor, this is what I know.. Pups born blue are different then Chocolate born. I do not thinkt he Chocolates have the skin and health problems many, not all blues have. I had one chocolate and one blue some years back. I gave the chocolate to a friend..I charged $100 for the blue to cover my expensives. So far there are no problems, but the saddle (blue area) does not always grow coat. I have seen photo's of some blue's that have little or no body hair, only gold..others have a short coat that does not grow. There is a gene called "fatal blue" and the pups will die...but that is not the case with all blues. You will find unreputable breeders charging thousands for choc's and blue's..just because something is rare does not mean it is valuable or desirable. A breeder has to decide early on what type of breeder they want to be..the first step is an informed one..the Internet is a world of knowledge and forums. Best wishes |
